USC vs Hawaii

USC opens up their college football season tonight with the Warriors from the University of Hawaii and yes I'm aware Reggie Bush will not be suiting up for the Trojans. If he was, I would be taking the Trojans with the 21 1/2 points, but unfortunately, he is unavailable. USC is lacking in the motivation department, because the NCAA ruled they cannot compete in any post season play. Why would you want to come out and show everything you've got, when it doesn't even matter. Reason number 2, Lane Kiffin, enough said. I'm going to be rolling with Hawaii and the 21 1/2 points tonight. This should be a good warm up for my Lock of the week selection. I will be releasing my lock of the week picks every Friday, unless I see a good line on the Thursday night games. Be sure to tune in for my pick tomorrow.

ESPN and Yahoo Fantasy App for Android

If you're wondering when ESPN is going to release an app, to keep up with your fantasy teams, you're probably going to be waiting for a while. As of right now, ESPN does not have an Android fantasy app in the Android Market. Fear not fantasy football lovers, Huddle Hub is about to make your day. Huddlehub.com is going to be releasing a fantasy app that works with both ESPN and Yahoo. The app was supposed to be release on Monday August 30th, but the programmers ran into a few bugs and decided to push the release out until the first of September. If everything goes as planned, we should have an app just in time for the regular season to begin. Cheers

College Football Kickoff

Well boys and girls, college football season is right around the corner. You can all most smell the charcoal and beer from the tailgate. What a good way to kill a whole Saturday by the tv and ignore the honey do list. This years college football season kicks off on Thursday September 2nd with the headlining game being Marshall at Ohio State. I'm going to have to agree with Vegas on this one and not give the Thundering Heard much of a sporting chance. Hell the line on the game is right around 29 at the moment. I don't know about the rest of you college football fans, but I would like to have seen a better matchup for the first day of season.

The labor day game should be the final signal of the start of College Football season, but gone are the days of Florida State Vs Miami. This year we get to see two top ten teams in Virginia Tech and Boise State. This should be a home game for the Hokies, but i believe they will falter throughout the course of the game. We will be continuing our Lock of the Week section for all the gamblers out there and maybe we'll even get a few expert opinions. So let's get ready for some football.

Like any of us couldn't see this one coming. Ageless wonder Brett Favre will don the Purple and White for one more season, his 20th in the NFL. Now I like Brett Favre and I believe that he has the right to walk away from the game whenever he is good and ready, but Jesus. Is it worth all this mess for one last shot a glory? Hell, obviously Brett could play until he's 50, but there comes a time when you need to unwind and maybe settle into a life of sleeping in and fishing. We will probably be sitting around this time next year talking about the same ole same ole, or the Vikings could win it all and let Brett ride off into the sunset. Guess we'll have to see.

So it's been a long week and all I keep hearing about is Bill Belichick's infamous 4th and 1 call in last Sunday nights game against the Colts. I mean this is getting drug out worse than Watergate. Who in the hell cares if he gambled and the Colts defense called his bluff? I know I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I mean if anything, it shows that the man has balls enough to go for it on his own 28 yard line. Belichick definitely did not play the numbers game or he would have punted the ball. I believe it was arrogance, he thought his offense was good enough to shove it one yard down the Colts defenses throat. Well guess what Billy? It didn't work out the way you planned. Now if we could just get ESPN to stop giving us the daily updates on the call, life would be better. Here's a news flash, Bill let it go and so should you.

Lock of the Week

As I've mentioned before, i'm not a professional handicapper, but I'm riding a 2-0 streak on my lock of the week. This week I'm going to switch things up a bit. For the last 2 weeks i have had a college pick for Lock of the Week, but this week I'm going to switch gears to the NFL. I believe this pick is gold. Now i know there's no such thing as a sure thing, let's just say i have a really good feeling about this one.

All i can say is that I'm all in on this one. Denver should easily cover the 3.5 point spread at Washington.The Redskins will be lucky to score a touchdown on the Broncos D. Hoping to move to 3-0 on my Lock of the Week Picks.

Now I'm not handicapper by any means, but i have been known to make a wager or two in my day. This week's Lock took a lot of thought. I was just about to pull the trigger on Oregon, but i had a not so fast moment. I kept reviewing the lines and finally came to a conclusion. Maryland sucks. This week Maryland is playing at Nc State. Now Nc State is not a defensive powerhouse by any sense of the word, but they can put up some impressive numbers on offense. I just don't think the turtles can hang down in Raleigh. When Johnson got down to the 10 yard line, Commentator Gus Johnson, said " Watch out, he's got getting away from the cops speed". After several bloggers got after him for the comment, Gus decided to apologize for what he said. Everyone is getting a little bit too sensitive for football. ESPN is reporting that Danica Patrick is close to inking a deal to race for JR Motorsports, Dale Earnhardt Jr's Nascar Nationwide Series team.Looks like this could be an audition for her to join an actual Nascar team in the next couple years. Every week i research all of the college and NFL football games to look for that lock of the week. This is the pick that i would put my whole bankroll on.
